Now there’s an easier way to get to the Best Beach in the World for our friends in Cebu, as Airswift, formerly known as Island Transvoyager Inc., introduces roundtrip flights daily from Cebu to El Nido. Starting November 26, 2015, the 1-hour and 40-minute flight from Cebu Mactan International Airport to Lio Airport will be made available to our Visayas-based valued guests on November 26, 2015. The CEB to ELN route will operate daily at 3:15PM and 4:55PM flights and return flights at 12:55PM and 2:35PM. With this gateway, we are more than excited to show our little piece of paradise to tourists and fellow Filipinos from Visayas and Mindanao!
Be G.R.E.E.N. Youth Camp
The first-ever Be G.R.E.E.N. Youth Camp has left young Eco-Explorers in awe. It was held at Miniloc Island, one of the four islands of El Nido Resorts, where the Eco-Explorers enjoyed a four-day fun-filled camp that centered on self-discovery, camaraderie and nature appreciation. On the first day of the camp, Eco-Explorers were taught the Basic How-To’s of Photography by a professional Creative Photographer, Harvey Tapan. With nature as their subject, Mr. Harvy Tapan took the campers to Snake Island and Big Lagoon for some awesome snapshots. The camp was also timely because on the same day, they were able to witness the release of 37 Green Sea turtle hatchlings back to the sea.
The curious campers took an educational journey for their Marine Exploration with the snorkeling organizer, Rima de Dios. From snorkeling to identification of sea creatures, the world of science came alive for our campers. The campers also experienced Rock Climbing led by our Guest Activities and Marine Sports men. The camp wouldn’t be complete without the Outdoor Survival Skills 101 taught by our very own in-house Sea Scouts. The campers were taught the basics of knots tying and had their paracord bracelets ready at the end of the session. One remarkable activity that was shared by our Environment Officers is the resorts’ very own Inigtan Farm tour where Eco-Explorers experienced harvesting some of El Nido Resorts’ fresh produce. Campers showed off their camp spirit by participating in the Coastal Clean-Up activity where they realized their role in keeping our nature clean and green.
With all their campers’ upbeat spirit and curiosity, the camp was even made more delightful than what was expected. They made friends, learned new skills and took home life-long memories. The Be G.R.E.E.N. Youth Camp provided a great outdoor educational experience to the campers and El Nido Resorts do hope to welcome more participants next year.
International Coastal Cleanup 2015
As much as 28 billion pounds of plastic enter the ocean every year and this figure could double within the next decade according to Ocean Conservancy.
The team of El Nido Resorts, being the leading advocate for responsible tourism in the Philippines, is at their best in keeping plastics away from the ocean and waterways. Aside from their consistent efforts in cleaning up El Nido’s islands every other week, they have joined the rest of the world for the annual International Coastal Clean-Up last September 19, 2015.
Despite the heat, members of the local government unit, community locals, El Nido Resorts guests and collegiate volleyball superstars Gretchen Ho and Alexa Micek took time from their busy schedule to take part in this activity.
If you’re thinking of a destination for next year’s International Coastal Clean-Up, we suggest you make it El Nido Resorts. We promise fun time with locals and great food!
